About CamelScan

Feral camel populations are estimated to cause over $10 million damage each year, and their numbers are increasing. In order to reduce the damage they are causing, we need to know where they are. CamelScan needs your help to map sightings of feral camels in your local area. CamelScan can be used by anyone and the more information we add, the more useful the maps will become.
CamelScan is a free mapping service that you can use to record sightings or problems caused by Feral Camels in your local area.

How can you use CamelScan?

  • Record and view all your sightings of feral camels and their damage all in the one place!
  • Upload your photos of feral camels and their activity and view them in the photo gallery
  • Use the data from your local area to create and print a map
  • Talk with your neighbours and compare your results
  • Find out who may be able to help you with feral camel management, such as the Australian Feral Camel Management Project.
