How to take a good quality photo
Please ensure that you upload a good quality photo when submitting your report, so that our expert team can help to identify the animal.
Good quality photos
- Ensure there is sufficient lighting.
- Check that the animal is in focus.
- Get as close to the animal as safe to do so.
- Take multiple photos from different angles of the animals head, back and underside. FeralScan or local biosecurity authorities may request more images following your original submission.
Poor quality photos
- The image is blurry, out of focus or taken through the wall of a container housing the animal.
- The lighting is poor.
- The animal is too far away, too close or moving quickly, and you cannot see the identifying features clearly.
