What to record
This community website provides a simple and easy method for you to report possible sightings of new pest species to
local biosecurity authorities. The reporting procedure is very simple to follow. Please record the following
information:
Sightings of Corn Snakes and Red-eared Slider Turtles
Tell us what animal you have seen, when and where you last saw the animal using the online reporting form. By
providing as much detail as you can, you are helping to prevent the establishment and spread of high risk
species.
A picture of the animal
Sometime new pest species can look similar to Australian native animals. We work with a team of highly
skill experts who can help identify the animal from the photo that you provide.
Please ensure your image is good quality by following the recommended guidelines
here.
Your contact details
Local biosecurity authorities might need more information from you about what you have seen. By providing
your contact details, authorities can gather essential information about the sighting, that can assist in
further surveys and monitoring.
All information regarding personal details are managed privately and confidentially.
How to record information

Register and Login

Open the Map and use your mouse cursor to zoom to the sighting location

Select the 'Record a sighting' button at the top left hand corner

Click the location on the map where you saw the animal

Complete the questions in the form

Submit your record
Thank you for your report. The information you provide will be supplied to your local biosecurity group. Your contact details will be kept secure and confidential.
